Announcement to Parents

July 7, 2020 admin

Dear Parent or Guardian,

We trust you are enjoying your summer and that all of our students and their respective families are healthy and staying active. We are preparing and looking forward to an outstanding year at Trinitas Academy. New registrations are still being processed and our classrooms are also being equipped to welcome your children back. We look forward to serving our families even better in the  upcoming academic year.

Please be sure to read the enclosed attachment on our school’s Health and Safety Measures so that as a community we cooperate to promote the best conditions possible on campus for both our students and staff. These protocols will be explained with more detail at our Parent Orientations in August, but please feel free to contact our office if you have any specific questions.

Uniforms

Uniform shirts and PE shorts will again be available for purchase at Debbie’s Uniforms (now Dennis Uniform) and their navy-blue sweater is the only sweater that will be allowed on cold days. Remember that pants, skirts, or shorts/skorts must be khaki for non-PE days and can be purchased at the store of your choice! Your child’s teacher will provide you with the schedule indicating which day is his/her PE day.

Dennis Uniform is offering curbside pickup, virtual fittings, live chat, and a resource page on their website to help families purchase their children’s uniforms, but they will not be taking anyone inside their physical stores. Follow this link to place your order. https://www.dennisuniform.com/schools/AATRI.

Parent Orientation

This year, our Parent Orientations will be held on separate days and times, to allow for physical distancing. We request that parents come without their children due to limited space, and wearing a face mask. Important new school procedures will be discussed, and you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and visit your child’s classroom to meet his/her new teacher! Extended Care registration forms will be available should you require their services. Following is the Parent Orientation schedule:

  • Monday, August 17th
    • 11:00am – Preschool and Kindergarten
    • 1:00pm – Grades 1st-3rd
  • Tuesday, August 18th
    • 11:00am – Grades 4th-5th
    • 1:00pm – Middle School.

Health & Safety Measures

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 19th. From day one we will enforce our school’s health and safety measures (attached) in order to provide a clean and safe environment. Please see attachment for new arrival and dismissal times, meant to maintain our hallways free of crowds and allowing of physical distancing. If you have multiple children, please follow the times for your youngest child.

Students are to come to school wearing a mask, and enter through the middle gate where they will have their temperature checked. If they are dropped off early, parents must walk up to the gate to sign them in using their ID’s and our new touch-free system.

Please make sure you have finalized your online enrollment process before the first day of school and signed your family’s Payment Plan Agreement in order to provide you with your student and parent ID’s.

Learning Format Options

ON CAMPUS LEARNING (FACTS LMS)

Our plans to return to teaching on campus includes a plan for the  possibility of a second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. This  includes  having the proper technology for distant learning. We will begin the new school year training our students in the classroom how to use the FACTS Learning Management System, and they will therefore be required to bring a laptop with them to school on a daily basis (see classroom supply lists).

DISTANCE LEARNING

Should parents still feel uneasy about allowing their children out of the house when classes begin on August 19th, we are providing a Distance Learning format which allows children to maintain their full status as Trinitas Academy students and yet continue to receive a Christ-centered and Biblical worldview education. Students who enroll in this learning format will continue to have access to all of our personnel resources, and participate in our various events. At any point, students registered in the Distance Learning Program may return to receive physical instruction or request a combination of on campus learning and distance learning, known as a “blended” program. The Distance Learning Program has two different formats you can choose from. This decision can be made prior to the start of school in August.

Limited Online Format

Through this program, students would keep all of their textbooks at home and receive weekly teacher lesson plans and assignments in core subjects, to be completed and submitted on a timely basis through the FACTS LMS system or by dropping it off at the school. Limited internet capabilities is required for this format in order to take advantage of certain features, including teacher video instruction. However, having internet access from home is not mandatory, as long as students can complete the work on their own or with parent assistance.

Full Online Format

Through our affiliate partner, the Trinitas Online Academy uses the Canvas Learning Management System to instruct our students through online courses and receive video instruction and daily assignments to be completed and submitted online. This program is strictly online and has technological requirements.

Free Lunch at Trinitas – New!!

All of our scholarship students will be able to participate in our brand new lunch program, offered Monday-Friday and at NO COST to you!! Non-scholarship students can also participate in the program at a minimal cost of $60 a month. A team made up of Trinitas staff members were delighted after tasting food samples, and carefully selected from these delicious yet nutritional dishes to create our customized menu. This new addition to our school program promises to be a sure win-win for all!!

Thank you once again for selecting Trinitas Academy to serve your child’s educational needs. We are anticipating an exciting year and look forward to seeing you and your child(ren) soon. Our prayers will include that you arrive safely and healthy. Please see the attached file explaining how you can join our Trinitas Tiger Ambassador Club by referring others to our school. If you have any additional questions, please call the school office at (954) 581-2744.
